Liking a person is very common for us, we develop romantic feelings for a person because they have desirable qualities that we like and when they also like us back, this is when romance would bloom. Many couples started this way and I think that it is a great way to start a long-lasting romance however, even though we like someone, there are times that we don't do anything about it. We sometimes keep to ourselves the feelings that we have for them and here are some of the reasons why.
We are shy to do something.
There are times where we like someone but we do nothing about it because we are shy to do anything at all. We don't have the courage to just come up to them and talk to them casually. Our feelings would always get in the way and it makes us nervous just thinking about talking to them. Even though we successfully talked to them, we don't know what to talk about. We are afraid that we might say the wrong things to them and they might not like us anymore because we acted like a fool in front of them. We think we are better off as friends.
We like someone but we can't do anything about it because we think and we feel that it is better for us to be friends with them than to be lovers. Because of this, most people who were friends with the person they like wouldn't dare tell the other person that they are in love with them.
They already have a pair.
Sometimes, we fall in love with someone who is already taken. We like them but we can't do anything because they already have a pair. It would be bad of us to interrupt their romance and even become the reason why they would break up. There are times where we should just keep our feelings for them in secret because we can see that they are already happy with someone else. But there are some who would really dare speak their feelings even though the person they like are already taken. Many couples have broken up because of this reason.
We are afraid of getting rejected.
We may have liked someone but we do nothing about it because we are afraid that they will reject us if we confess our feelings to them. We know how painful it is to be rejected by the person we like which is why sometimes we don't take a risk and just keep our feelings to ourselves. There are so many people out there who might have been rejected many times and the moment they like someone, they don't confess anymore because they are thinking that they would be rejected again and they have to go through that pain over and over again.
